Jennifer Love Hewitt recently signed to star in a long-desired sequel to I Know What You Did Last Summer. That news came on the heels of her self-directed 2024 Lifetime holiday special, The Holiday Junkie, in which she starred with her husband since 2013, Brian Hallisay, and their three kids.

Three weeks after having been displaced by the Los Angeles area wildfires, the actor and director, who will turn 46 on February 21, teamed up with Ferrero Rocher chocolates to reflect on what’s most important in her life these days.

The Healthy by Reader’s Digest: Jennifer, first of all, we’re so sorry to hear you’ve been displaced by the wildfires. It’s been a devastating start to the year. We’ve seen from your Instagram your efforts for families trying to recover. Can we ask how you and your family are doing?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: We are doing OK. Holding each other up and trying to adjust to all of this change. We are together and safe. That’s what matters.

The Healthy: There’s been so much buzz about the reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer. What can you tell us about the project and when to expect it?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: I can only say that it’s wild to be doing I Know What You Did 27 years later! Julie James has always been one of my favorite characters.

The Healthy: We’re big Ferrero Rocher fans. What would make your Valentine’s Day this year?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: A room full of heart balloons and Ferrero would be the dream! It’s the best treat to share with your person, kids or galentines!

The Healthy: Celebrating your 11-year wedding anniversary recently, People quoted you saying, “I’m proud of us.” Any married person will understand what you mean. Can you share any more about that?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: Marriage is beautiful but it does take work. We have to wake up and choose each other every day. I feel lucky that he chooses me over and over again.

The Healthy: I feel like in recent years we’ve finally seen Valentine’s Day broaden to be more inclusive of people who aren’t in romantic relationships. What’s some wisdom you’d share with someone who’s hoping to find love?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: I would say love is all around us. In our friendships, romantic love and in the love we give ourselves. Love can be yours anytime! That’s another thing I love about Ferrero Rocher. It’s a gift you can give your friends, your love, or yourself.

The Healthy: What’s one self-care habit you refuse to skip?

Jennifer Love Hewitt: I will never skip my morning and nighttime serums, creams and Gua Sha!
